Wolf! Wolf! Wolf!

This week our fairytale was 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf'.

We learnt that this book is called a fable.
A fable is a story that tells a lesson.
The lesson we learnt was that you mustn't lie or trick people because then when you do tell the truth they might not believe you.

For art this week we created our own sheep.  It's amazing what you can make with a paper plate, some paint and cotton wool balls :)

First Miss Lister made our hill and our wolf to go on the wall.

Then we stuck our legs onto our plate.
Miss Lister gave us our sheep faces and we used white paint to create its woolly head and red paint for the mouth.

Then it was time for our googly eyes to go on.

Putting glue on our plates and sticking the cotton wool balls onto them was the next job and we did such a great job sticking them nice and close together so there were no gaps.

And tada! Our sheep are complete!

Don't they look Incredible?!

Too bad they are going to be eaten...

Creating with Paint

As we have been reading the fairytale 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf', Room 1 decided that we would paint the hill that the Boy takes the sheep up everyday.

We practised using our paintbrushes to blend our paints together to create hills with lots of colour on them :)  Miss Lister thinks we did an AMAZING job and says we are all SUPERSTARS :)

Loot at them now!

Wow look at how much our magic beanstalks have grown in the past 3 weeks!  We have loved watching them grow and cannot wait to see how tall they can get!

1 and a half weeks growing
Aren't they cute?!

Cross Country!

On Wednesday it was the Year 1's and 2's cross country!
We have been practising everyday in anticipation of this big event.
We absolutely loved seeing all the parents that were able to come and it felt extra special to have the older students on the sideline cheering us on.

There was rain, puddles and mud and we loved every second!!

A special congratulations to Chantal who came THIRD in the Year 1 Girls cross country. Well done Chantal!

Room 1 are running Superstars!

Our support team on the sidelines

And the ones that wanted to keep their feet dry :)

GO boys!!!!!

Not even the rain could stop us

Well done Chantal! Room 1 is so proud of you :)

Puppets! Puppets! Puppets!

Room 1 has had a busy Wednesday!  Not only did we run the cross country (post to come) but we were also treated to a very special show by Hands Alive!

It was an amazing puppet show that did their own version of some of our favourite Fairytales and we loved helping Billy and the Princess spot the Gingerbread Mouse and the Monster.

One of the best parts was when Miss Glue came out and sang a beautiful song reminding us that when things get hard we must 'stick to it' and never give up.

Thanks for coming Hands Alive!

We loved it!!
